A weekend of firsts...

So this past weekend has been one I had been waiting for....  Hunger Games was coming out!!!!  Jake actually seemed a little excited to see it, too.  We lined up my sister, Amanda, to watch Baker on Saturday while we were going to see the movie.  So....

Friday:
Baker was not sleeping well, and I associated it with his developmental stage.  He has learned to roll over in the crib, so he does it all the time!!  He had never slept on his belly, therefore it was a hard adjustment when he rolled.  I digress.  On Friday, he was rather fussy following his non-sleeping night of sleep. Which I totally expected. We were going to go to our friends Brandy and Shawn's house for dinner, but Shawn was craving Mexican so we decided to go out to eat instead.  Baker was a lot more fussy than usual, but once again I thought he was sleepy.  He actually fell asleep in my arms, and this is atypical because he usually likes to be in his crib or carseat to sleep.  So when we got home after dinner, I thought he felt warm.  We went upstairs to start bedtime routine and Baker was as happy as a clam after his nap.  Before the bath, we decided to take a temperature.... 104.1!!!!!!  HIS FIRST REAL FEVER!!!!  Enter mama freak out mode!

He was not dressed overly warm, he was acting fine, he was eating, so how could he have a fever?  I called my friend Brandy who told me to give Tylenol and Motrin and recheck in an hour.  I called my mom who told me that was entirely too high!  So I gave him his medicine, and rechecked in an hour 99.0!  I spent the whole night dosing medicine and checking a sleeping baby's temperature.  Thankfully, his temp continued to go down the next day, and he still had no symptoms.  I did call the pediatrician on Saturday to see if there was some 6 month-old, high fever, no other symptom disease that I should know about, but they said if meds bring the fever down and he acts fine then he's okay.

Saturday:
My dilemma was I had a sorta sick baby, so should I go on my much anticipated movie date?  Ultimately, we did because he acted fine.  Do I get the bad mother award?  I hope not!  Jake and I went during the lunch hour to avoid crowds.  (This blog is getting slight long so I will concise)
2nd 1st: Went to Pharmacy Burger in East Nasty = Delicious!! Yummy burgers and fries and they have old style pharmacy sodas
3rd 1st: Upon waiting on our movie to start we went to Dave and Busters.  We were playing skee ball, and I hit the 100 slot for the FIRST time ever!  It was like I hit the jackpot, because I was jumping up and down like a goofball.  To be a debbiedowner, Jake decided to hit the 100 slot, also.  But I believe I am special.
4th 1st: Saw the HUNGER GAMES!! Loved it!  I though it was a decent adaptation of the book. That being said, I read the books in 2008 or 2009ish.  I refused to reread it because I find that if it was fresh on my mind, then I might be let down.

BTW: Came home to a happy baby! No fever!

Sunday:
I worked.
5th 1st:  I see a bunch of people running into my patients room.  Automatic thoughts are that something emergent is happening to my patient.  Negative.  My patient's 16 year old visitor is lying on the bathroom floor.  First time I have had to respond to my patient's visitors problems.  All ended up being okay.  But should I send them a bill?  I kid....

Well, long post!
