Easter

We celebrated Baker's first Easter.  He woke up to find treats from the Easter bunny, including some outfits and beach items for his upcoming vacation.  We attended church and Baker had a wonderful class, like always.  After we visited my uncle Jerry Cannon's house for the annual Easter egg hunt.  It can get very competitive when it comes down to the prize eggs :)  Then we went to Jake's brother's house for a second Easter feast.  As you can tell we had a very busy and fun day!!

Unfortunately, our camera battery went dead so we only have pics from before church.
 The goodies!
So excited in my Easter outfit!

I have an addiction!

I like to online shop!  So Jake would casually comment about how every time he came home there would be a box on our doorstep.  I would laugh and tell him it was not true.  Thinking back though, I do remember a time when we had like five boxes stacked up.  That was under special circumstances, Christmastime + me having a new baby = Not going anywhere but my couch to do shopping.  I found that getting a package in the mail was like Christmas morning every time the brown UPS truck would pull up.  I LOVED IT!!  I found myself ordering everything from dog food to baby spoons.  I would need the stuff at sometime or another, right??  Well, my precious husband never told me to stop shopping, but he did not seem to get as excited about my "finds."  I started to get boxes that I had no idea what was inside (because of my massive ordering), which was even more like Christmas, but sad...

I decided I needed to stop.  I was spending way too much money and time online shopping.  Apparently, Jake had been talking to friends about their wives shopping.  There is apparently a SAHM (stay at home mom) online shopping epidemic.  Jake equated it to TVC for all the old ladies in the 90's, minus the curlers and the Virginia slims.  Glad to hear I am not alone, but it is so much fun.  But I decided it was time to stop!

I have been unsubscribing from all those tempting emails.  Zulily is my weakness though, so I have allowed myself one small order a month.  This month was PJ's for Baker, but I am determined to save. There are so many things we could do with the money that I WILL NOT spend.  We could start a college fund, give more to church/charity, have a date night, or ....  Don't get me wrong, I was not spending tons of money, but $20 bucks here and there was adding up!

I am sure there is a support group out there somewhere, but I don't think it is that extreme yet... now to Zulily :)

6 months

Our baby has celebrated his half-birthday! Too bad he was sickly. Baker has been fighting his first illness for the past week. It has consisted of a virus that has caused 104+ fevers, rashes, sleepless nights, and one pitiful baby. He is now better except his appetite is still down. So I have been feeding him in his sleep since he doesn't fight at much.

The past six months have been amazing. Our boy is growing and learning fast. He now can sit unsupported, but does take a tumble after about five minutes. He is officially unswaddled and flips himself all around his crib. No crawling yet although he can push himself backwards. He eats solid food and loves pears and peas the best.

We love watching him develop and cannot wait to meet more of his little personality.

Layla brought her bone to share, but later took it back.  The best of buddies!
